Geofencing is a location-based service that can then be used to track when a Peoplesafe product enters or exits the defined area. The feature uses GPS signals from the app or device to report regular positional information to determine where the device is and when to send a notification or SMS to the user.
Using the Peoplesafe Portal, a location of interest can be marked by entering a postal code. This will capture the location’s latitude and longitude coordinates. A geofence perimeter will automatically set a 5-mile radius of which this proximity can be adjusted to suit.
Example: Geofence a high crime geographic area where there is a personal safety risk to staff. As the employee enters a high-risk area, they can receive an SMS notification advising to set a timed activity on their Peoplesafe device.
