Rosebery Housing Association
Rosebery Housing Association are a not-for-profit organisation, providing around 2,500 homes for residents in and around Surrey. Not only do they provide properties for the local community, but offer services such as providing pathways to employment and training and supporting those affected by welfare reforms. Rosebery are committed to making a positive difference to people’s lives by providing good quality, affordable homes.
In order to provide a first-class service for their tenants, Rosebery employs a range of ‘front-line’ staff. These include Repairs Operatives, out-of-hours Engineers and Customer Experience teams. Rosebery needed to take a proactive approach to ensuring the safety of their staff, especially whilst working alone.
The Housing Association trialled a number of lone worker protection solutions but were most impressed with Peoplesafe’s service. Equipping their front-line teams with the MySOS personal safety device ensured that users were able to quickly and easily raise an alarm in the event of an emergency, such as an accident or assault.
As Nathan Hillman, Compliance Manager for Rosebery explains, “We have in-house repair teams who carry out direct repairs to our premises and also provide out of hours emergency response to our tenants.”
The MySOS is simple to use and discreet. It can be worn in a number of ways including on a lanyard, as an ID badge, on a holster or using the accompanying keychain. With one-button alarm press that links directly to Peoplesafe’s 24 hour manned Alarm Receiving Centre, help is never far away.
With two-way audio communications, GPS tracking and locating, and a host of other features, the device is fully accredited to the highest industry standards including BS 8484:2022 and ‘Secured by Design’. Everything that is required to action a rapid response has been carefully designed within the device’s functionality.
“We’ve been impressed with the fast response times, even when testing devices for new users,” explains Nathan. “Peoplesafe gives Rosebery Housing Association peace of mind that our operatives have the backup they need in the event of an unfortunate situation when on the front line.”
The benefits are clear; not only do Rosebery’s lone working staff have a vital lifeline should the worst occur, the Housing Association have instilled a culture of good health and safety practice amongst their employees. They’ve also “actively reduced overall costs” by not having to double-up on manpower when out-of-hours working. Why? Because Peoplesafe are there for you, wherever… whenever. Hundreds of Housing Associations have already chosen Peoplesafe to protect their lone workers.
