Peoplesafe’s personal safety service is available in 33 European countries, Mexico, Serbia and South Africa in partnership with Eurowatch from Teletrac Navman.

This offers an additional response service that is integrated into existing Peoplesafe subscriptions, to provide enhanced protection for employees travelling outside of the United Kingdom.

Peoplesafe and Eurowatch

Eurowatch is a vehicle tracking system operated by Teletrac Navman that has 24-hour access to police around the world.

Peoplesafe is utilising the process and connections of this service and combining it with our UK-based personal safety solution, enabling businesses to provide staff with the same expert level of protection in a large number of European countries.

There is no need for employees to be able to speak the local language in order to get help. Each country has a local response service which we will liaise with directly.

How it works

The Eurowatch service can be utilised through the lone working app. When a SOS alarm is activated, the Peoplesafe ARC receives an alert with the user’s profile and GPS position as normal. A two-way audio communication channel is also opened allowing the ARC Controller to gather information about the situation in progress.

If a local service is required, our ARC Controller will contact Eurowatch to raise an incident which will then be passed to the National Service Provider (NSP) in the country of incident in the same way a stolen car, truck or cargo would be reported. Eurowatch will remain logged in to the incident, ready to provide support if needed.

Pre-pandemic, business travellers from the UK took approximately 8.98 million business trips abroad annually. When overseas travel or trips to unfamiliar locations are required, the list of potential hazards skyrocket, particularly for employees travelling alone.

Whilst there is an emergency telephone number in place for all countries in the EU, a recent Foreign Office poll found that just 3% of people in the UK know that 112 is the EU emergency phone number. However, even if you are aware of the service, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be put through to an English-speaking operator.
